HOPE AND PEACE

I heard the demos of these songs on FB and they touched my heart. Mia McClain, the composer, was asking for singers that might be interested in recording tracks for her. I threw my tiny hat into the ring and got a very positive response from Mia. Jeff Thacher, my old Rockapella buddy, did an amazing job of producing and mixing the songs. I love the message that both of these songs carry. I think it's important to give my time and voice to projects that promote peace and harmony in the world. Since I've made the transition to being a full-time therapist, I can pick and choose the music projects I work on, and I have decided that I'm giving my talents to projects that speak to my heart, that have real meaning for me, and that do something positive for the human condition. I believe that these two songs do all of that. If they inspire even one person to open his or her heart a little more, I consider them a success. I could care less about gold records. What I care about most is the elevation of spirit. Every time I listen to these songs, I smile. They were a joy to work on, and I hope that Mia goes on to write and perform more inspiring material.

THE SOLOW PROJECT

The SoLow Project, Barry's first solo release, contains an hour of unrestrained musical self-indulgance interspersed with lots of very satisfying low notes and a few relatively high ones.

POP DOODLES

Here are some of Barry's musical musings; we hope you enjoy these selections.

Are You A Man?
Bear and Sean are at it again - this time with instruments! This is a recording of the unholy duo rehearsing in the BassMint for 'Bravo Birchwood' in May 2006, with Sean on guitar and Bear on bass, singing Sean's existentially tortured paean to manhood.

Stop All The Hate
Featuring the virtuosity of Jordan Rudess, the creamy backup vocals of Vittoria Conn, and the voice-over artistry of James Rosenthal. To them I give my deepest thanks and appreciation. Songs begin where prose fails.

This is a book full of China, full of wonder. The author perceives Chinese life with the writerly eye of a young Hemingway. A quiet classic, not to be pigeon-holed as a China book. --Library Journal
